Google has Caffeine

Finally, after waiting some time, Google has completed development of its new search index called Caffeine. In December he began to try it with a first spread on their servers, but now the new search engine is now fully active. Google describes Caffeine with the graph you can see in the picture above: a dynamic way that breaks with the previous index made up of several layers of data with relatively low refresh rate. Thanks to this new index, the pages are updated more quickly, and between our search results highlighted items blogs, twitter posts, images, videos ... a more dynamic content than before. With Caffeine, in addition, Google is set properly to face the future with an index queservirá scalable basis for the company for future improvements. Some fun facts about Caffeine: its database occupies and 100 petabytes (100 million GB) and growing at a rate of hundreds of thousands of GB everyday (I can not even imagine Google's infrastructure to withstand this.) via: Engadget
